Gopalganj is a land of wisdom, reflecting the rich educational heritage of Bihar. The Department of Education plays a key role in preserving and advancing this legacy. Earlier, education was imparted through Gurukuls, Pathshalas, and Madrasas with a focus on religious and basic subjects. During British rule, modern schooling began with government and mission schools. After independence, institutions like Kamla Rai College and Bhola Prasad Singh College expanded higher education. In recent years, schools like Sainik School, JNV, and Government Engineering College have strengthened modern education.

गोपालगंज जिले में 11 मार्च को राष्ट्रीय आय-सह-मेधा छात्रवृत्ति योजना (NMMS) परीक्षा छह केंद्रों पर आयोजित की जाएगी, जिसमें करीब 4600 छात्र भाग लेंगे
जिला शिक्षा विभाग गोपालगंज ने शिक्षा से जुड़ी सेवाओं को डिजिटल बनाने के उद्देश्य से नया वेब पोर्टल लॉन्च किया है, जिससे छात्रों, शिक्षकों और अभिभावकों को एक ही प्लेटफॉर्म पर सभी जरूरी जानकारी मिल सकेगी।
